Forgetting Forgotten
"Sometimes.....games that are better.....are worse"
When I thought of trash and poor graphics and things that look bad but are lots of fun I first thought oh man. time to use my extensive collection of gifs I've saved from gifcities. Theres something beautiful and ugly and very genuine about these archived geocities websites that I really love. In the lawless land of the early internet, these sites were individuals staking their claim and saying "I was here."
But not everyone wants to stay here, wherever here may be. Sometimes in order to move forward, we have to forget the past. The increased presence of our digital selves can make that difficult. The End of Forgetting grapples with the right to forget and the right to be forgotten in an age of social media. How can we achieve the psycho social moratorium of adolescence when leaving teenage memories behind is no longer as simple as tearing them up and throwing them in the trash? Forgetting Forgotten is my visualization of what it means to forget in a digital age. Whereas in the past, we had to fight forgetting to hold onto precious memories, we now must fight to let go of them. So what are you waiting for? Kick that memory's ass! All the art and sound from this game is my own, except the gifs, which were found on Gifcities.com, an internet archive project. Learn more about gifcities here. Thank you to Brackeys and Zyger for their helpful tutorials, and to the unity 2D reddit community.
This is my third Unity 2D project and I'm so happy with how it turned out! I learned a lot, and I hope to keep learning more as I go. However, it is not without bugs, although maybe that is more in the spirit of the pompous trash jam.

Heads up, you need to set the manual size larger. You're cutting off some of the edges.
thanks for letting me know. I changed it so it should be better, but stuff is still getting cut off so I'll look into that more later.
